Jeffry Schneider is the Founder of Austin-based alternative investment firm Ascendant Capital LLC. With an innovative approach to financial structuring and a diverse range of marketing, education, sales and operational services, Ascendant Capital raises funds for established and emerging alternative asset fund sponsors. Working with a network of family offices, broker-dealers, private banks, and registered investment advisors, Ascendant distributes these public and private offerings across the globe.
Under Jeffry Schneider, Ascendant Capital has grown rapidly over the course of the last eight years from just two to more than 45 employees. During this time, Jeffry Schneider and his team have raised nearly $1.5 billion on behalf of several managers. Ascendant Capital works with more than seventy broker dealers, 350 investment advisors, and countless family offices. This capital has been used to purchase real estate, auto dealerships, tech companies and more. While Ascendant Capital’s growth is incredible, Jeffry and his team have no plans of stopping. This year, they are expecting to raise as much as $100 million on a monthly basis.
Jeffry Schneider believes that “given where the markets sit today, alternative investments are a great way to diversify holdings and reduce volatility. They have experienced great growth in recent years, and this growth will only accelerate in the years to come. If you look at the smartest pools of money, the allocation to alternative investment stands at levels much greater than those of most RIA’s. Client portfolios, in general, are under-allocated to alternative investment.”
Ascendant Capital’s success is largely due to the company’s culture. The Ascendant environment encourages, if not relies upon, open dialogue and complete trust between team members. This transparency, in which Jeffry Schneider prides himself, extends externally as well. The company makes its fiduciary responsibility toward investors its top priority.
Before Ascendant Capital, Jeffry Schneider worked at both Axiom Capital Management and Paradigm Global Advisors. Additionally, he spent time at Merrill Lynch, Alex Brown and Smith Barney. He holds a degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
